Raleigh, NC and Carolinacon
March 27 to 29, 2008

I flew into Raleigh and stayed one night before the Carolinacon began.  During that day, my city host Mike showed me all around his city.  He is a great guide and has amazing stories of his adventures and experiences.  Mike introduced me to a local favorite food, barbecue (pork marinated in vinegar) and Brunswick Stew.  I liked both fairly well, but even better to me was what everyone seems to take for granted, the hushpuppies (deep fried cornbread).

I was amazed at how many churches are in the area.  Within one block of the state capital in Raleigh, there are seven churches, all historic.

I used my new (cheap) gps during this trip.  It led me down some very nice roads, but many times, it ended up taking me to the totally wrong place.

I always forget to take photos of the conferences themselves.  They have interesting seminars, and part of the fun to me of these smaller ones is talking with people between and after the talks.
