Johnny and I began our Europe vacation the day before the camp ended by touring a bit of Berlin, Germany and then picking up our rental car in Berlin.  We took the train from a small town near the Camp and rode it into and around Berlin.  We then rode the buses along the Unterden Linden from former East to former West Berlin.

We got off the bus frequently to walk along the streets to see many sights.  We even walked a couple miles to see the former Checkpoint Charlie and a remaining portion of the wall.

I *love* to eat, as anyone can tell you.  So, one of the parts of our trip I was most going to enjoy was sampling the foods from each of the places we visited.  I had a rather long list of the things I wanted to try.  The first on my list was Wurst and Sauerkraut.  I throroughly enjoyed this.  It was the best sauerkraut I have ever tasted.  Johnny also got into the spirit and tried some foods and beers from each of our stops, always allowing me a taste, as well.  Thanks, Johnny!

Another highlight of our tour through Berlin was to be the Fernsehturm TV Tower.  When we first arrived, the clouds obsured the top of the tower.  Then the weather cleared up, and we were anxious to get up there to see the entire city.  Of course, just about the time that we get into line, the clouds returned, and it began to rain.  Still, we enjoyed our ride up and walk around the top, as well as the view that we had between the clouds.
