| Today was a very good
day for me. I feel I accomplished more than usual. I've been having a problem with one of my teeth for a few weeks, and I've simply been delaying contacting the dentist. I finally decided today that I should make an appointment for next Monday, so that I can get it taken care of. The receptionist Kelly told me they were short several people but could still fit me in TODAY at 10:10, and so I headed down the hill. It was not a long wait, but there were delays as the
three people working (where there are normally eight) had multiple things to do. Finally, the dentist told me that my tooth would have to be drilled and filled, but could I wait until Monday to have him do it. I said that is fine, since I had originally planned to have it done Monday anyway. Then he told me that since he had to delay me, he wouldn't charge me for it! Wow, that is at least $160 to get a filling, plus whatever extra he charges for the visit itself.
Then the nurse said that not only is Monday free, but today's visit is free, as well, a savings of another at least one hundred dollars for the visit and two x-rays. Sweet deal! I also bought a new notebook computer today. I had already decided before the Costa Rica trip which one I was most likely to buy. It was simply a matter of confirming that model is still the best deal. It was, and so now I own a new notebook computer. I am presently (as I write this)
transferring data from this older desktop to the new notebook. I still have to install many programs and get settings the way I want. It is always a long process setting up a new computer. I am very pleased with it so far. But I still need to find a driver for the graphics card. I didn't want Windows Vista on my notebook, and so I wiped the hard drive and installed XP. I found drivers for most things, but I still can't seem to find the correct graphics
driver. I then drove to Madera (from Fresno) to research the name of the owner of the property where Mitch used to caretake. I have to be out of this place in three weeks, and I am hoping Dr. Mc Coy (yeah, like on Star Trek) will allow me to stay there and oversee his properties. He's got over 2300 acres! I don't take up much room. When I got home, I finished clearing out the stuff in the camper. There are still a few boxes of videos and books that I need to
look through to see what I want to keep and what goes to the swap meet a week from Monday. It was a beautiful day today. It was still rather chilly, being only February. But the sun was shining, and there was a slight breeze. I was sweating while working in the camper. Now I still have to get this bus started. I climbed under the bus for just a minute this afternoon to see how the gas tank is connected. I think I can remove the tank in order to drain it,
rather than trying to fight the drain plug again. This is now my biggest concern regarding the move. I want to take this bus with me, rather than having to build an entire new home in the other bus. Both Larsen's and Teri
have offered to allow me to park my bus on their properties temporarily, so that I now have a little more breathing room in finding a new home. And with the camper done, there isn't really all that much stuff to go through. I am feeling much better today about having to move than I have for the past week or two. Thank you, God!
