The events at the Coarsegold Rodeo this year were kicked off with The Star Spangled Banner playing while this horse and rider rode around the arena. It was exciting and rallying. It is nice to see the patriotism that has been reborn in citizens these days.
The roping teams didn't do as well this year as usual, but the individual calf ropers
made some very impressive times.
It isn't often that my camera will catch good action, since digital cameras always have a delay after pressing the button before the photo is taken. This one, though, catches the horse in the air. The rider was able to maintain his seat and ended up high in the rankings.
My long time friend Mike went with me this year to the Coarsegold Rodeo. We both worked in the food booth with Joann, and then enjoyed the events. I have known Mike longer than anyone else, having met 24 years ago at YMCA camp.
