Events from 2002

This is the second time I have attended the Networld+Interop Convention and the first in Las Vegas.  I enjoy doing conventions in Las Vegas, for several reasons.  First, the drive to Las Vegas is easy.  Second, the cost of a motel in Vegas is lower than most places.  And third, Las Vegas is simply a fun place to visit and tour.

Perhaps it was the location, or maybe having a friend go with me, but this Networld+Interop Convention seemed to be better than the last one.  The size of the exhibits was probably about the same, but they seemed to have a few more seminars available than last time. Also, I got more free toys and samples at this one.

We attended several seminars.  Of course, most of the seminars that we attended were taught by one company's representative and had a slant that pertained to their products.  Most of the seminars were quite technical, pertaining to networks.  Since my business deals with only smaller networks (small business and home networks), the information was not as helpful to me as it might have been to someone who works with much larger networks.  However, I did learn something from most every seminar we attended.

The trip to Las Vegas was not all work.  After we went through the entire exhibit hall (most of it twice), and when the seminars were done for the day, we got out into the city and had some fun.  Click here to see more about that aspect of this trip.
