| | | | | Pennsylvania is a state with varied topography. There are some steep hills and many rolling hills, and there is plenty of wide open
spaces. |
|
 | | | The farms that I saw seem to be different from
the farms common here in the Central Valley of California. There the farms seem to be smaller, probably owned and operated by individual families. The farms have a rather tranquil appearance, at least at this time of year. |

| | | | As a general rule, the towns and cities of Pennsylvania seem to be smaller than here in California. It was really a very refreshing feeling.
As Denny and I drove through his hometown, everyone seemed to know him. |

| | | | Denny took
me to see several things that Pennsylvania had to offer. One of my favorite things was this covered bridge in Forksville. We got to drive across it and then walk back and play on it. I have not been on many covered bridges, and this one was beautiful. |
|
| | | | My favorite part of what I saw of Pennsylvania was the Grand Canyon. Though it is not as awesome as the "real" one in Arizona, this was beautiful. I suppose it reminded me of home here in the Sierra Nevada with its steep sides and long views. Denny said this is the best time to view the canyon, since the leaves on the trees hide much of the view during other times of year. |
