I had never been to Venice Beach, and I have long wanted  to see it.  I had heard about it nearly all my life, and I was looking forward to seeing a real live boardwalk and the canals.

Unfortunately, I did not get to see any canals.  If I'd had more time, I would have found them for sure.  Maybe next trip.  I did get to see the pier and the boardwalk, though the boardwalk was actually asphalt.

There were many interesting people along the boardwalk, and the stores sold a large variety of merchandise.  Many places sold art items, and others sold clothing or food.

One place advertised that they would do your hair while you also got a tattoo.
Interesting combination!

The famous Muscle Beach was right there, as well, though we didn't see many people working out.
