Gratitude
To Those Who Helped Me
Before, During and After Surgery

Bobbi -- She handled all my phone calls and questions for the six months prior to surgery.

Margaret -- She spent much time with me the day prior to surgery, answering all my questions concerning the operation and anesthesiology, as well as giving me information concerning vitamins and herbal supplements.

Dr. Hansen and Crew -- For the hard work they did on my foot, and for their dedication to making people walk more easily.

Nurses -- These people work day after day seeing to the needs of the patients under their care.  They work long hours taking care of the physical needs of those who cannot care for themselves.
These are the nurses who assisted me during my three day stay:  May was there when I arrived from surgery and cared for me for the first few hours.  Monica worked twelve hours each of the three nights I was there and showed such energy and dedication to her job that it amazed me.  Jenny and Suzanne looked after me the first morning in the hospital.  The afternoon I was so sick from the morphine, there was a nurse who did some very messy cleanup, but unfortunately I either never caught her name or forgot it in my discomfort.  Carol cared for me my second and third mornings and helped me to bathe.  Phuong cared for me my second afternoon, and she also arranged for me to have a private room for my last two days.  Margaret and Ben and Charles came at odd hours to check on my vital signs.
Thank you so much to all of you hard working people.  You give of yourselves day after day, and I want you to know that your efforts are appreciated!!

Marv -- He went with me to Seattle, sat with me in the hospital most of each day (even though I slept most of the time), and took care of me after I was discharged from the hospital.  After returning to California, he let me stay at his house for several weeks.

Cards and Flowers -- So many people sent cards and flowers to me while I was at the hospital that the mail person was amazed.  The cards continued to arrive during the several weeks when I was recovering back home.  Each card blessed my heart and helped to brighten the days.  A few friends even found the hospital phone number and called to encourage me while I was there.

Jeffrey at the Hotel -- When I was discharged from the hospital, I was far from well.  I could not stand for long, not even while leaning on someone.  I was extremely nauseous from the pain pills and the moving.  Jeffrey upgraded our hotel room so that it was easier to maneuver the wheel chair.

My Fellow Air Travelers -- People switched seats in the airplane during the flight home from Seattle, so that I could be more comfortable.  Everyone was helpful and caring and patient with me.

Mike and Teri -- While I am recovering, these two close friends of mine are taking care of my routes for me.  They are each giving many hours of their limited time to do the work that I cannot.

Thank You So Much,
All Of You!!
