There are many different sections to the Butchart Gardens, each with its own theme. My favorite was the Underground Garden. Though it is not actually underground, it is set in an old rock quarry so that it is below ground level.
Back in Victoria City, while waiting for our return ferry to Seattle, we walked over to the Parliament Building. It is an impressive building, and at night it is lit up beautifully.
I had heard of the beauty of the Butchart Gardens for many years, but I had always thought that it was a rose garden. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the roses are only a small part
of the gardens. Even this late in the year, there were a myriad of flowers in bloom. How do they do that?
My second favorite area was the Japanese Gardens. It is so tranquil and peaceful. Even with all the visitors walking the paths, it was a simple thing to find a quiet little area in which to contemplate the beauty in silence.
