Christmas Dinner at Swallow's House December 25, 1999
My two favorite food items are candied yams and pumpkin pie. I think that I actually like the yams even more than the pie. Joann always makes lots of yams, just the way I like them, even though most of her family won't eat them. *smile*
The beauty of the table is always enjoyable. I know the food is usually the main focus, but I sure enjoy how nice they make the place look. The food is great, the companionship is fantastic, and the table looks nice, too. All in all, it is a wonderful way to
spend the day.
The Swallow's always invite me to dinner for Christmas at their house. (They are so good to me!) I very much enjoy spending the day with them. They are neat people, and the food is always excellent.
Joann was not feeling well this day, and so the entire family helped with preparing
the food. Of course, since the kitchen is small not everyone could work at the same time. It was neat seeing how everything came together at the same time. Except the turkey, which never did make its appearance, but that is fine with me since I prefer the ham anyway.
