Ansel Adams Wilderness Minarets, Yosemite backpacking

The Minarets, shown here in the distance, is one part of the Ansel Adams Wilderness to which I have longed to hike.

The trip to them would need to be about one week long, and it would actually begin on the west side of the Sierra and hike over the Minarets (part of the Great Western Divide) to end up on the east side of the Sierra.  Such a trip would also entail a car shuttle, as the ending trailhead is at Mammoth Lakes area.

The Ansel Adams Wilderness was originally named the Minarets Wilderness because of these mountains.  They are visible from most of the Wilderness Area.

Thank you for traveling with us on our dayhike.  We enjoyed the journey very much, and I trust that you did, as well.

If you would like to see other hikes to Jackass Lake, check out the Events section of this website.

Thank you.
