Story of one Backpack Trip

Ansel Adams Wilderness Lunch Break2, Yosemite backpacking

The first part of the trail from Norris Trailhead toward Lady Lake is extremely steep.  It usually wears me out hiking that one mile, but this time I did quite well.   At the top of that first steep section, I stopped for lunch, as is a tradition for most hikers on this trail.  There is a wonderful view from that point to the east.

These rocks greet the traveler as he or she begins the ascent up the steep section.
This trail junction sign tells the weary traveler that the end is near.
