Ansel Adams Wilderness Dawn in Clouds2, Yosemite backpackingAnsel Adams Wilderness Yosemite backpacking Breakfast in Bed

The next morning dawned dark and grey.
It had rained off and on during the night and there had been rumblings of distant thunder.
The rain had let up by morning, but it was really only the "calm before the storm".
Shortly after dawn, the wind started blowing in very cold.
I opened the tent but stayed in bed as I prepared and ate breakfast.
(In case you are wondering, it consisted of Fruit and Creme Oatmeal and Hot Cocoa.)

After breakfast, I got up and hiked around a bit.
I always enjoy climbing the rocks and ridges along the south and west sides of Lady Lake.
In the picture above right, that is Madera Peak in the background.
Madera Peak marks the boundary between Yosemite National Park and Ansel Adams Wilderness.
It tops 10,509 feet.
