There are many beautiful meadows in Ansel Adams Wilderness. I particularly appreciate the one (above) with the twin trees growing out of the rock in the center of the meadow. The ridge behind this meadow is the one that bounds Lady Lake, my
destination for this trip.
The trail into and through Ansel Adams Wilderness, like most trails, goes through
a variety of terrain. The rocky section above is near where I leave the trail. I prefer many times to hike crosscountry. In this way I am able to see more of the country that others do not see, as well as to enjoy more closely the wilderness experience.
