Hello there:
I was just following links related to vending and I came to your site and the pictures of the trail...
They are great pictures.   I enjoyed the way you posted your trip..  As I followed your trip it almost felt like if I was reading a short novel.
Even though I have only have gone camping once in my whole life -- I enjoy the idea of wondering around free in the wilderness
Thank you for sharing your pictures and your trip.

It was great reading about you and your life, it seems we have some parallels- until some three months ago I was living in a little 19 ft caravan in the middle of exmoor, in the 'wilds' - or just about as wild as sw england can get. I used to love falling asleep to the sound of owls in the winter and the sound of rainfall on the roof. during one thunderstorm i thought the whole caravan was going to be split in two it sounded like some giant sky tiger and dragon were fighting right above me.
I built a klinker board conservatrory on the front togive me extra room, and had a peach, fig, apricot and jasmine growing thru the floor of it- altho' the white fly have pretty much ruined the fruit trees. I also built a breakfast patio that had nice views over the Brendens, the Bristol channel to s Wales.
The garden was a wilderness of nettles and rose bay willow herb up to my neck, since its been cleared it looks great. the place backs onto some woods.

Well Dave I was just looking through the homepage site this evening.  Got tired of watching the Olympics.  You have a nice website here Dave.   Most relaxing and decribes your life very well.  Well Dave, as I got deeper into your website here, the more I thought about my own happiness.    Simple is the easiest and most pleasant way to live your life.   I had to laugh when you said that you analyze too much. Doesn't it just drive you crazy when you start thinking too hard and most of the time, the answer was so simple.

I'm a good friend of Tom's at Deep Springs. Yep, we all work and live out here on this cattle ranch, college, community of gourmet delights (thanx to Tom, our beloved chef and wonderful friend). It's so funny you have made contact in this way because my husband Mike and I, have been boring Tom with details of our house search on your side of the Sierras and lo and behold we have bought a house in yes, you've guessed it, lovely Coarsegold! Yosemite Lake Park. We'll all have to meet up sometime soon.  Your web  page is great. I grew up in N. Calif. where the terrain is very similar to Oakhurst/Coarsegold area so it's a natural for us to move back there someday. In the meantime, there's no place more gloriious than this Deep Springs valley, and a wonderful lifestyle than here at the college. It can be very intense tho and
escape (brief) is imperative. Maybe someday you'll visit. Anyway-just had to write when I heard about the Coarsegold connection.

Traveled the world a few years later until retiring the first time at the age of 38. Of course, went back to work and still find myself working for myself. Its much better that way.  Enjoy life!  Comments: Certainly enjoyed the new additions to your web page. You have been giving the beavers a race for their money! Be careful with T.J. and wet clover. Wet clover can be very dangerous for a horse. The horse doesn't know it can give him problems and he will eat it wet or dry. Be sure and keep him off of it if it has morning dew on it or it is wet from rain if you have it growing in your pasture. If wet, it causes a severe bloating problem and can be fatal if not caught in time. I think we used Epson Salts for it for both cattle and horses if they had that or bangs disease. Dry, glover is a good treat though. If they don't eat too much! Sometimes horses don't know when to quit eating. (I must be half-horse then????? Ha!) Your nephew, Richard, sure seems to be a fit young man. Good luck to him on the Varsity Team. He is lucky to have such a caring Uncle. And the church retreat was certainly well attended. I'm afraid I could not handle that big of a crowd. I like smaller groups. But it looks like everyone was having a good time. Fellowship like that tends to be rare nowadays. Keep up the good work, Dave. Happy Holidays! ~Ken~
